Resolved: Yes
Results Oct 1YES if, no later than September 30, 2026, the U.S. House gives final passage (a recorded roll‑call or formally entered final passage vote) to a bill whose operative text, as passed by the House, imposes a 100% tariff on imports from India conditional on continued purchases by India of Russian crude oil or petroleum products. This includes the Senate‑approved measure from the Senate vote on 7 August 2026 or a House bill that is substantively the same on that specific 100%‑tariff conditionality. Resolution will be based on the official House roll‑call record (Clerk of the House / Congress.gov) and/or clear reporting by two or more independent reputable news organisations such as Reuters or the Associated Press, and if the House only refers the measure to committee, passes a different or diluted bill, or takes no final passage by the deadline, it resolves NO.

Why: The Chamber definitively adopted on September 16, 2026 (262-159) the text voted by the Senate on August 7 (86-11), the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia Act of 2026. It authorizes tariffs of up to 100% on the five main importers of Russian oil, including India, if they continue their purchases. Signed on September 18. Confirmed by The Tribune and Scroll.

How markets are built and settledGiven the urgency and the current geopolitical landscape, it's likely that Congress will push this bill through before the deadline. Watch for it to pass.
