21 million. The cap is written into the protocol, and the last fractions of a bitcoin are expected to be issued around 2140.
When was the last Bitcoin halving?
On April 20, 2024, at block 840,000. The block reward went from 6.25 to 3.125 BTC.
When is the next Bitcoin halving?
