Results Sep 9🤖 Context
The market required a public announcement by Arsenal or Olympique Lyonnais that Malick Fofana had joined Arsenal on or before September 8, 2026. Instead, multiple independent outlets and a club statement report that Fofana completed a transfer to Sunderland on Deadline Day, with reports of an agreement and a medical and updates including FootballWhispers on September 1, 2026, and they say Arsenal considered but did not complete the move. Because no official announcement was made that Fofana had joined Arsenal by the deadline, the market resolves to no.

Final crowd probability
The crowd was 88% sure, and they nailed it.
Why: Multiple independent news outlets in the supplied evidence report that Malick Fofana completed a transfer to Sunderland on Deadline Day (reports of agreement/medical and a club announcement) and explicitly state Arsenal considered but did not complete a move. Key pieces: Sky Sports: "Sunderland finally complete signing..." (deadline-day timeline and club announcement); SPORF: "Sunderland have reached an agreement... Medical completed"; FootballWhispers (updated 2026-09-01): Arsenal's interest was overtaken by Sunderland who agreed personal terms and a fee; Evening Standard: Arsenal opted against pursuing the deal and Sunderland moved in. Those independent, contemporaneous reports establish that Fofana did not complete a move to Arsenal on or before 2026-09-08.

With the window closing in a week and no official announcement yet, it's unlikely Arsenal confirms Fofana's signing before the deadline. Keep your expectations in check.
