YES if, no later than August 25, 2026, there is a public bilateral agreement, via a joint statement, press release, or matching public announcements by both governments, stating the U.S. will not impose the proposed 50% tariffs and describing measures that would prevent those tariffs' implementation. The market also resolves YES if two or more independent, authoritative news organizations, for example Reuters, AFP, AP, CBC/Radio‑Canada, Globe and Mail, or the New York Times, report that such a bilateral agreement was publicly announced by that deadline. Ongoing negotiations, unilateral statements, or claims by only one party without corroborating reporting do not count. Otherwise the market resolves NO.
