If the Préfecture publishes multiple numeric figures before the cutoff, the number in its latest communiqué at or before 12:00 PM on July 24, 2026 determines the outcome. If the Préfecture gives no numeric figure by the cutoff but the French Ministry of the Interior / Sécurité Civile publishes an official gouv.fr press release giving a numeric burned area greater than 1,000 hectares for the same fire by the cutoff, that also counts as YES. Social media posts or third party news articles do not count. Otherwise NO.
