8,000 daily players, and a new way to compete
Das Clutch-Team · Veröffentlicht am 11. August 2026

We just crossed around 8,000 players a day on Clutch. That is thousands of people opening the app every single day to call the news, argue in the comments, and see who reads the moment best. For a small team, that number still feels a little unreal, and we wanted to stop and mark it.
When we started, a few hundred people played Clutch. Today the community is many times bigger, and it keeps growing week after week. We are not going to pretend we planned every part of that. Most of it came from you: telling friends, sharing your best calls, and coming back day after day.
Growth broke something we loved
There is a catch to growing fast. Some things that felt great when we were small stop working once the room gets crowded, and our world leaderboard was the clearest example.
A single global ranking was fun when a few hundred people were on it. You could watch yourself climb, recognise the names above you, and feel a real race. But once tens of thousands of people are playing, that same board turns cruel to newcomers. Open the app for the first time, make a few good predictions, and you might still find yourself sitting around 35,000th place. Technically accurate. Emotionally, completely deflating.
Competition is supposed to pull you in, not tell you the race was over before you arrived. The bigger we got, the more the leaderboard quietly worked against the exact players we most wanted to welcome.
So we built Leagues
Leagues are our answer. Instead of one impossible global ladder, everyone now competes in a small pool of players near their level. You are not racing the entire world at once, you are racing a handful of people you can actually catch.
How Leagues work
- There are five tiers, from Bronze up to Diamond. You start in Bronze and climb as you win.
- Each pool is small, so every ranking spot is within reach and every prediction matters.
- Seasons run on a fixed clock. When a season ends, the pool locks in and resets for the next one.
- Finish near the top and you get promoted to the next tier. Slip to the bottom and you move down. Everyone always has something to play for.
The goal is simple: make competition feel fair again. A new player in Bronze and a veteran in Diamond are both in a real race, just against the right opponents. Climbing to Diamond means something because you earned every tier on the way up.
Leagues are live now. See which league you're in and how close you are to the next promotion.
A small team, saying thank you
We are a small team, based in Paris, France, building Clutch at Rodger Studio. There are not many of us, so every player who trusts us with part of their day genuinely moves the needle, and we feel that responsibility.
Reaching this point is not something we did on our own. It is thousands of you playing, giving feedback, and telling us when something feels off. Leagues exists because we watched how the community was growing and knew the old leaderboard could not keep up. Thank you for pushing us to make Clutch better.
What's next
We are not going to over-promise. But we have a lot more we want to build, and more ideas than we have hands. Leagues is one step, and there is plenty more coming. Keep predicting, keep telling us what you think, and stick around.
If you have not tried Clutch yet, download the app and jump into your first league.
