Every leaderboard has a name at the top. On Clutch, it is Maydrick, and lately the whole community has started betting like him. He backs the longshot almost every time, wins around 85% of his bets anyway, and when he places one, a wave of players pile onto the same side within the hour. We went into our own data to understand what makes him so good, and why so many people now follow his lead.
One honest note first. Clutch is free to play with no real-money betting. You stake Credits, which you earn for free, and when you are right you win Points, which you can redeem for rewards. Nobody is wagering cash. What follows is one real account, pulled straight from our data.
The numbers behind number one
Maydrick, by the numbers
- He has settled 114 bets and won 97 of them. That is an 85% win rate.
- He almost always backs the long shot the crowd wrote off, the side that pays the biggest multiple when it lands.
- He bets big. Nearly every stake is the maximum 100 Credits.
- He is on a 14-win streak, has hit 17 in a row, and sits at number one this season.
Put those together and you get something unusual. Most players who win 85% of the time are hugging heavy favorites for tiny payouts. Maydrick wins just as often while backing longshots, so every win pays several times his stake. That is how a single account climbs past players who bet ten times as often.

Three calls that show the pattern
Three real bets from his account
- He put 100 Credits on No when the crowd was about 93% sure MrBeast would out-subscribe a rival creator, which priced No at just 7%. It did not happen, and that 100-Credit stake paid back 2,882 Points, almost 30 times over.
- He put 100 Credits on Yes that ChatGPT would hit an outage, a call the market priced at just 16%. It went down. Payout: 1,319 Points.
- He put 100 Credits on No that severe hailstorms would cause structural damage around Paris, priced near 11%. They did not. Payout: 1,920 Points.
None of those were lucky darts. Each one was a moment where the crowd was confident and Maydrick quietly disagreed, with a reason. Outages happen more than people admit. Extreme damage is rarer than headlines suggest. Reading those gaps, over and over, is the whole skill.
Then the community started watching
Here is the part that surprised us. Maydrick does not just win, he moves the room. When we looked at what happens right after he places a bet, the pattern was impossible to miss.
Human bets in the window after his, by side. The lead is nearly 5 to 1 in the first hour, and still 2 to 1 a day later.
The size of the following
- 944 players have copied his side on at least three different markets. 266 have done it on ten or more.
- One player, olivier.hype, has mirrored 75 of his calls, usually within a couple of hours.
Nobody is being told what to do. Players have simply learned that when Maydrick takes a side, it is worth a look. And because every follow-on bet nudges the price, the odds drift toward his call. The crowd ends up agreeing with the read of the sharpest person in the room.
Following him actually works
The most interesting thing about his followers is that they are winning too. The players who track Maydrick most closely are not casual dabblers. gil.st.andre has copied 67 of his calls and wins 82% of the time. jeremy.j has copied 57 and wins 84%. Most of his regular followers sit in the Platinum tier, near the top of the whole game.

How to read the crowd like Maydrick
- Doubt the obvious favorite. The biggest payouts come from the moments the crowd is too sure and you are right.
- Have a reason. Maydrick is contrarian with judgment, not for its own sake. Only fade the crowd when you genuinely know something.
- Be selective and size up. A few high-conviction bets at the maximum beat a hundred lazy ones.
- Watch the sharps. Following a proven player is a perfectly good strategy, as his own followers keep proving.
