Clutch, by the numbers
The Clutch Team · Published September 14, 2026

Over 1.2 million predictions. More than 77 million points won. In a few short months, you turned Clutch into a daily habit for tens of thousands of people. We sat down with the numbers to see what that actually looks like.
We are a small team, and for a long time these were just counters ticking up on a dashboard. So we stopped, pulled four months of real data, and looked at how the community actually plays. Here is what we found.
What you love to call
One category runs away with it: sports. About a third of every prediction on Clutch is a sports call, from title races to transfer rumours to a single match on a Tuesday night. Nothing else comes close.
Share of all predictions since launch. Sports leads by a wide margin, with tech, politics and science in a tight chase.
After sports, the race tightens. Tech, politics and science are almost neck and neck, and culture, entertainment and the people you follow are never far behind. Whatever the world is talking about, someone on Clutch is already calling it.
But are you actually any good?
Short answer: yes. When a prediction settles, it comes true about 70% of the time. You are not throwing darts — you have a real feel for which way the day is going to break.
Share of settled predictions in each category that came true. You are sharpest on entertainment and politics — and sports, your favourite topic, is right on their heels.
Here is the twist: sports may be what you play most, but entertainment and politics are where you read the room best. Culture is the hardest call of all. And that healthy win rate is no accident — the typical prediction is placed on the side the crowd already favours, so you know a safe bet when you see one.
Optimists at heart
You also have a clear bias, and it is a hopeful one. Faced with a yes-or-no question, you pick YES about two thirds of the time — even though markets end up almost evenly split once the results are in.
How you call it versus how it actually turns out. You lean YES far more than the world does.
And the optimism pays off, just a little: YES calls come true 71.5% of the time versus 68.1% for NO. Betting on things to happen has been the marginally smarter play.
Against the odds
You do not always play it safe. Sometimes you call the longshot and it lands. Over 6,300 winning predictions were placed on outcomes the odds gave less than a 20% chance — and nearly 900 of those were true long shots under 10%. The gutsiest winning call of all? A 1% chance that came in.
And you go on runs. Nearly 5,900 of you have strung together ten correct predictions in a row, 129 pushed past thirty, and one untouchable streak reached 83. On the single busiest day so far, the community placed 22,851 predictions in 24 hours — over 10,600 of them with a Payout Boost riding for double the winnings.
Where the arguing happens
Predictions are only half of Clutch. The other half is the comments, where a passionate core turns every market into a debate — often in their own language.
Sports does not just top the predictions — it sparks the loudest debate too, with more comments than any other category. And when a single market pulls 110 comments, you know the community has found an argument worth having.
Clutch is a morning thing
Look at when predictions actually get placed, in each player's own local time, and a clear rhythm appears. Clutch is a morning ritual. The busiest single hour of the day is 8am: coffee in one hand, calling the day's news with the other.
Predictions by hour of the day, in each player's local time. Mornings are the busiest window; the app quiets overnight and comes alive again at dawn.
Mornings take the biggest share of the day, with the afternoon a close second and evenings not far behind. The quiet stretch is the middle of the night, when even the most dedicated callers finally put the phone down.
Zoom out to the week and the pattern holds: Monday is your biggest day — there is nothing like calling the week ahead — while Friday is the quietest. Put it together and Monday at 8am is Clutch at its absolute peak.
Growth we still cannot quite believe
Put every prediction on a timeline and the shape speaks for itself. What started as a few dozen calls a week is now well over a hundred thousand, and it keeps climbing.
Total predictions placed since launch. From a standing start to over 1.2 million in a few months.
None of this is us. It is thousands of you opening the app, making your call, arguing in the comments and coming back the next day to do it again. Thank you for building this with us.
What's next
We are not going to over-promise. But we have more ideas than hands, and a few things we are genuinely excited about.
Better markets
We are making markets sharper and clearer, with fewer of the edge cases that occasionally made a call confusing or a result feel unfair. Better questions in, better predictions out.
Resolution, in your hands
We have been seriously exploring what it would look like to let the community help decide how markets resolve, instead of leaving it entirely to us. We wrote up the whole idea here and it is one of the most exciting directions on our roadmap.
New ways to win 💎
Your points already turn into real rewards — the community has redeemed over 6 million of them for 435 prizes so far. And there is more coming to how you earn and what your calls are worth. We are not ready to show it yet, but it is something we think you are going to love. Keep an eye out.
If you have not made your first call yet, download Clutch and see where you land.
