Pourquoi : Multiple independent, credible outlets reporting the match lineups & team news for Belgium v France on 2026-09-28 indicate Kylian Mbappé was injured/ruled out and does not appear in France's starting XI. Al Jazeera (28 Sep 2026) reports Mbappé will be out with a knee injury and lists an XI without him; Yahoo Sports published a “Confirmed lineups” piece listing France’s starters (none of whom is Mbappé); Le Parisien published the official France lineup for 28-09-2026 naming starters (Jacquet, Diouf, Da Cunha, Lepaul, etc.) and does not include Mbappé. These independent, corroborating reports establish that Mbappé was not in the starting eleven at kickoff.
